Can I use LED light bulb on my 3-way lighting fixture?

I know there is no 3-way LED bulb yet. My 3-way light fixture can be set to use 50, 100 or 150 watts. Can I replace the old bulb with LED bulb and keep the setting on 50 watts permanently? The LED light bulb actually just consumes 6 watts in this case.

Would motion detector technology work with LED street-lighting?

Leaving the issue of safety aside, would it be cost efficient to have LED street-lights “turn-on” only when motion is detected ?

That code executes fine, but nothing gets written to the database. I would really appreciate any help, for some reason I just can’t figure this out.
Thats not it. When I run this function, it seems to work. When I try and run in again, I even get an error saying that it cant be executed because it would create a duplicate entry. However, like I said before, nothing actually gets written to the database.

How to repair Moserbaer 4GB pendrive ?

Hi.. I have a mosebaer pendrive 4GB.. My friend took it to a cybercafe to download some files.. then later when i use in my system, THE PENDRIVE DOES NOT WORK.. EVEN THE LED IN IT DOESNT LIGHTS.. My system is perfect.. ALL OTHER PENDRIVES WORK..

V2 electronic cigarette battery problem.?

I’ve had my V2 electronic cigarette for about two weeks, and didn’t have a problem with it. Yesterday the battery ran out, so I plugged it in, and left it there for a while. The light on the charger lit up green, so I left it there for a while. After about four hours or so I noticed the light was still green, but I unplugged it anyway. I screwed on the carto and took a drag, but the LED on the battery flashed 15 times, and it emitted no vapor. I unscrewed the carto and took a drag out of the battery by itself, and it worked perfectly. I tried it again with the cartomizer, and it just flashed 15 times again. I looked up some solutions online, and found that the way to reset the battery is by blowing hard into it without a carto five times. I did this, and the LED lit up for a bit, then flashed and turned off. I tried it with the carto once more, but it flashed 15 times once again. I tried without the carto, and it works perfectly. I even tried every carto that I had left and nothing! I tried calling Customer Support but it said something about the system being down, and calling on Monday. Can any of you help me out with this, or will I have to wait till CS is back up? I don’t have any money to buy analog cigarettes, and I don’t think I can go a full day without my ecig. I already didn’t sleep at all last night. Please help!

Help with HP Notebook Black screen?

Hello, I am having a issue with my Hp G60-630US notebook and I am at a lost at how to solve it. The problem started about two weeks ago during a party. My laptop was dropped I picked it up and everything seemed fine, then the next day when I turned it on I found myself staring at a black screen no POST, no Bios, but the led lights ,the back-light ,the hdd indicator , fan, and dvd drive were working . At first I figured it may just be an error so I restarted it but unfortunately nothing changed. Being partially computer savvy and a bit desperate I began to scour the internet seeking a resolution.So I happened upon a few forums describing possible solutions, but nothing so far has worked. Before I go out and spend money on replacement parts and such I’d at least like to narrow down the issue.

Things I’ve Tried:

1. Removing Battery and power cord, holding power button for 30-60 seconds.
2. Powering Laptop on with Lcd screen at an angle
3. Removing and re-seating RAM and Hard-drive ( The latter of which caused the backlight and hdd indicator to stop functioning)
4. Holding down fn +f4 while powering on

Please help me with this dilemma, any assistance will be greatly appreciated as I don’t have the finances currently to afford a new laptop.

LED monitor display problem?

I have an LED monitor(LG-22 inch).I am using it as desktop monitor.Now there is a problem.When I switch on my computer,the whole system runs as usual,except the monitor.The red light just blinks and screen shows LG logo,but the display is not coming.The power supply is ok.What could be the problem?

Why is IE6 preventing script execution when modifying an Access Database?

Here’s the issue, I’m using Dreamweaver MX 2004 and can connect to the database no problem but executing a sqlString to connect and add a record through IE6 and other browsers is for some reason being stopped. I get no errors what so ever but the DB is not modified as it should. In fact it seems that all database stuff I have in both ASP.NET and ASP 3.0 are not working properly when viewing it in the browser.

Nothing has changed as far as Dreamweaver goes as far as I can see and as I said there is not problem making the connection to the DB with the site whether it’s DNS (less) or OLEDB but when testing it, it’s just not working, and it should.

Any web developers out there have an idea of what’s happening? I’m on WIN XP Pro, SP2, Dreamweaver MX 2004.
I’m ruinning on IIS 5, when I say the database stuff isn’t working where it was before I mean that it seems that some of the scripts in the page, particularly ASP.NET aren’t executing. I enabled write permisions on the database, even the entire folder but got the same result which is no result. Again, no script error message, nothing to tell me there was a problem with executing or writting to the database.

So, I’ve been looking into LED lighting, can I buy replacement bulbs for a floor lamp that use LED technology instead of halogen or fluorescent? Einstein would recall, “Such a principle resulted from a paradox upon which I had already hit at the age of sixteen: If I pursue a beam of light with the velocity c (velocity of light in a vacuum), I should observe such a beeam of light as a spatially oscillatory electromagnetic field at rest………However, there seems to be no such thing,
whether on the basis of experience or according to Maxwell’s equationss.”

A bystander on Earth witnessing this hypothetical chase would claim that the astronaut and the light beam were moving side by side to each other. However, the astronaut would say something completely different, that the light beam sped away from him, just as if his rocket ship were at rest. The question confronting Einstein was: how can two people have such different interpretations of the same event? In Newton’s theory,one could always catch up to a light beam; in Einstein’s world, this was impossible. There was, he suddenly realized, a fundamental
flaw in the very foundation of physics. In the spring of 1905, Einstein recalled, “a storm broke out in my mind.” In one stroke, he finally found the solution: time beats at different rates, depending on how fast you move. In fact, the faster you move, the slower time progresses!!

This is the reason why you cannot break the light barrier, which is the ultimatespeed limit in the universe.

CPU/ Motherboard Problem — Help me i have tried everything!?

Hi, i have a very annoying and frustrating problem that i need solving as soon as possible, i have alot of work to get on with and I will be very greatfull if someone can assist me with my problem.

Yesterday afternoon, i was on my PC, jst browsing the internet and doing some work, I had been on it for about 4-5 hours and then it just shut it self down, i didnt have a clue why, so i just restarted it… I booted up the PC and nothing came on the screen, my graphics card fan was funning, but it over powers the other fans normally so i didnt think any different.. I opened my case up as i thought it might just of overheated as the room was quite hot, i then noticed that my heatsink fan was not running and neither was my casefan, My PSU fan and graphics card fan where still running, i unplugged my CPU fan and case fan and blew in the holes to make sure no dust was inside.. this didnt help and the fans where still not running when i booted the computer, however they span once when i turned the computer off, so i knew power was getting to them. I took my heatsink off and had a look at the CPU for physical damage, there is none. i took out my RAM and replaced it and i have made sure everything is plugged in properly, I finally got my both fans working.. but i have had to plug them both into different connectors so the CPU fan is not in its original plug. but it is running fine.. I have tested my CPU too see if it got hot when i turned it on without the heatsink, however it doesnt get hot in 5 seconds.. at the moment i have my computer in bits on the floor without a solution.I have tried everything i can think off. I paid over £600 for it so i expect it to last over 7 months… the LED‘s on the motherboard are lighting up green and there are no beeps to indicate any problems.. Any help will be amazing.

Wire gauge impact on alternator?

My daughter built an alternator for a science project, but it is only producing 0.4 volts of energy. We would like to increase this output about X4 so it will light up an LED. What would happen if she used a smaller gauge wire? Does this impact the output of the alternator? She really cannot change the overall design of her solution, based on the amount of time she has put into the project and how much time remains; meaning, she cannot go with larger magnets, etc. Thanks in advance for any input.
By smaller, I meant smaller diameter for the wire, not smaller gauge number.

This is a very small sixth grade science project alternator; therefore, the magnets are very small and weak. They spin very well and fast, but the magnets aren’t super duty by any stretch of the imagination.

Calling an Arizona law aimed at finding illegal immigrants un-American, Cook County commissioners today approved a resolution boycotting the state and giving the board power to end any contracts with vendors located in the state.

But in a quick turn of events, commissioners then approved a contract with a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company that will supply red-light cameras in the Cook suburbs.

Commissioners Edwin Reyes and Joseph Mario Moreno, the board’s lone Latinos, led the charge to boycott Arizona businesses.

“It’s just patented un-American, and it’s wrong,” Moreno said, while Reyes said it was a question of civil rights.

“No matter what the impact is, we’re taking a stand,” said Commissioner Earlean Collins, who voted in favor of the boycott. “Equal protection and equal justice under the law.”

The measure passed with 10 votes in favor, six against and one absent. But the opposition took the opportunity to flog the Obama administration for not moving fast enough to deal with immigration problems.

Republican Commissioner Tony Peraica called it “a hot potato that we have no business dealing with.’

“The pressure should be put on the White House, the Congress, all controlled by one party,” he said.

Commissioner Timothy Schneider worried what would happen if the shoe were on the other foot.

“Maybe Arizona is going to come back and boycott Cook County businesses,” he said.

“We’re punishing people, businesses in Arizona that may oppose this particular law,” said Commissioner Peter Silvestri.

pc boot problem?

yesterday my pc (compaq presario) was working well, but suddenly screen got black, fan speed increases, and continuous beep sound came from pc speaker. then i put off the pc by power button. again started the pc, this time monitor displayed green colour and boot process not advanced. again put off the pc and again started this time pc boot properly and win xp opened perfectly. but after three four minute again screen got black fan speed increases but no beep sound. put off the power. again started but this time fan was running cpu power on led glowing ,mouse (optical) light glowing but screen was black. waiting for solution

Car Amplifier – No Power?

Randomly on the road the sound cut out. I unmounted it and tested the terminals with a voltmeter. BATT+ to GROUND was good, and REM to GROUND were both good. The blue bars you see on it will light up, but the PWR LED will not. It is not in protect mode. According to the manual:

“PROBLEM: No audio (POWER LED is off).
CAUSE and SOLUTION: No voltage at BATT+
and/or REM terminals, or bad or no ground
connection. Check voltages at amplifier
terminals with VOM.”

But That obviously is not helping my problem. What could be going on?
The fuse between the amplifier and battery is intact, as well as the two on the amp itself.
